INDIA · MONTHLY RECURRING BANK DEPOSITS
Recurring Deposit (RD) Maturity Calculator
Unlike a one-time bank FD, an RD builds the corpus from monthly instalments. Each deposit gets a different number of months to earn interest, so multiplying the full deposit sum by a yearly rate is not correct.

Calculation results
An advance-of-month RD approximation, NOT actual bank daily accrual, deposit schedule, TDS or early-closure payout.
An estimate, not a bank deposit rate, tax assessment or lender approval.
When and how to use
At ₹3,000 per month for 24 instalments, you contribute ₹72,000 in principal. This example compounds each deposit from the start of its month at a constant nominal rate converted from the chosen quarterly-equivalent rate.
- Use the monthly RD amount you can pay without interruption. This is not the initial one-time principal used in an FD calculation.
- Enter an RD rate from your own bank's rate card for the exact term and customer type. Do not use a stock-market SIP assumed return.
- Choose the bank's disclosed compounding practice, for example four times a year as an illustration. Exact interest can differ because banks use deposit dates, calendar days, premature withdrawal rules and rounding.
Understanding the result
Advance-of-month regular instalments with constant rate, a quarterly-equivalent-to-monthly compound model. Not a contractual bank maturity schedule, live interest quote, TDS calculation, deposit insurance guarantee or early withdrawal estimate.
Frequently asked questions
Is an RD the same as an SIP mutual fund?
No. An RD is a bank deposit subject to deposit and product rules; SIP is a way of investing regularly in market-linked mutual funds.
Does your result equal my bank's RD maturity receipt?
Not necessarily. Real banks may use calendar-day interest calculations, quarterly rests, rounding or penalties; verify their schedule.
Is all interest tax-free?
No. Tax and TDS depend on current rules and your status; the figure shown here is gross interest before any tax or fees.
