Financial calculators for decisions in the United States
Choose a calculator built for US dollars, federal tax terminology and US lending conventions. Every result is an estimate: state-specific taxes, actual lender offers and your personal Social Security record require separate verification.

How to select an appropriate calculator
01
Start with your take-home paycheck
The 2026 federal paycheck calculator covers ordinary W-2 wage income tax, employee Social Security and Medicare. It is an annual liability illustration rather than a W-4 withholding estimate. The difference matters when you're comparing net salary against monthly repayments.
A basic mortgage payment and a separate extra-payment calculator answer different questions. The first helps you budget principal, interest and estimated housing costs; the second holds scheduled principal-and-interest payments constant and illustrates a shorter term when you pay extra.
Vehicle price, down payment and positive net trade-in equity affect the financed balance. Compare interest across the entire loan rather than choosing on monthly payments alone. State sales tax and dealer fees must be entered from a written quote.
Use compound growth for hypothetical monthly savings and credit-card payoff for a single outstanding balance. One predicts investment growth under assumed returns; the other applies a fixed interest rate and payments to debt. Neither predicts market performance or actual daily card billing.
Do the US calculators include state tax automatically?
No. Federal tax estimates and countrywide credit math cannot replace a state- or city-specific calculation. If a state tax amount matters, verify it using your state's official tax authority or the lender's quote.
Why is the credit card payoff different from my issuer's statement?
The model uses a nominal annual rate divided by 12. Real cards can charge interest on a daily average balance with fees and multiple APR buckets.
Can I use the retirement tool as a Social Security forecast?
No. It projects personal contributions under assumed investment returns. Use your SSA earnings record for a government benefit estimate.
