When and how to use

On ₹1,00,000 take-home income, existing EMIs ₹20,000 + proposed EMI ₹10,000 + other fixed obligations ₹5,000 produce a 35% fixed-obligations ratio. A chosen 50% planning cap is YOUR assumption, not a universal bank rule.

  1. Enter dependable monthly net salary or qualifying income as instructed by your prospective lender. FOIR conventions differ between lenders, especially for bonuses and variable income.
  2. Add the monthly EMIs on current loans and credit contracts; then test a PROPOSED new EMI from an actual quotation.
  3. Add other fixed commitments that your lender counts. The displayed maximum new EMI uses a target percentage chosen by you—not a legal or RBI-defined eligibility percentage.
  4. Check your full budget for food, rent, dependants and insurance, even if those costs are not counted by an individual lender's FOIR policy.

Understanding the result

No bank-specific FOIR policy, credit scoring, legal affordability threshold or approval promise. The chosen ceiling does NOT come from an RBI mandate. No personally entered salary is collected.

Frequently asked questions

Is 50% a mandatory RBI FOIR limit?

No. Lenders and products have different eligibility rules. The percentage in this form is an illustrative user-selected planning target.

Should I enter my CTC or take-home pay?

This model calls for monthly take-home income. A particular lender may ask for different evidence or count variable earnings differently.

Does being below the target guarantee loan approval?

No. Credit history, age, work type, existing obligations, lender income recognition and the actual interest rate still matter.
